Survey Research

The Division of Institutional Effectiveness (IE) serves as the institutional clearinghouse for scheduling surveys of our constituents. The division is responsible for the coordination of efforts to survey the institutional community, to prioritize survey needs, and to increase the potential for statistically valid response rates.

  • All surveys distributed to groups of individuals associated with 91Â鶹, or any of its affiliates, must be approved by the Designated Senior Official to ensure appropriate relevance to the institutional mission.
  • Requests to administer a survey from an external constituent are not permitted.
  • Those wishing to fill out an internal request to administer a survey to other members of the AU population (faculty, staff, and/or students) should start by reviewing the following:

I want to conduct a survey. Where do I begin?

If you are a university employee wishing to administer a survey that solicits input from other members or prospective members of 91Â鶹 at a super-set population level (i.e., faculty, staff, students, and alumni), you should obtain permission from your supervisor and the responsible senior leaders for the target population, then from IE. Before submitting a survey request form, it is highly recommended that you review the brief Institutional Administrative Survey Guide linked below.
